Distinguished University Teachers

As of the autumn of 2012 teachers at Uppsala University can apply to be recognised as distinguished university teachers. A distinguished university teacher (Swedish: "excellent lärare") is a teacher who has attained a higher level of teaching expertise. This level is clearly to be distinguished from the basic level, just as the docent level is distinguished from the doctor level.

The applications are evaluated by two referees and, after an interview, the faculty´s Board for Appointment of Distinguished University Teachers decides whether the applicant should be accepted.
