Passengers of the Titanic – how to turn a list into a map

Using OpenRefine, you can supplement a table with information from other sources – for example, retrieve coordinates based on a list of locations. We show how it can be done, using the Titanic's passenger lists as an example, and how to then display the coordinates on a map using QGIS.

The same principles can be used if you want to supplement a table or list with other information, such as a list of famous people for whom you want to retrieve birth dates.
