Compulsory Course in Research Ethics

For postgraduate students within the Faculty for Science and Technology a course on Research Ethics (of at least 2 credits) is mandatory for both Licentiate and Doctor degree. Either of the two courses, Ethics of technology and science (part I) or Research Ethics for Science and Technology, is recommended.

Ethics of Technology and Science (part I)

  • Preliminary schedule for the third course instance during 2022: 06 Oct, 13 Oct, 18 Oct and 25 Oct  at 9:15-12:00. Last day to apply is on 15 Sept 2022. The course is given online/Zoom. Click here to apply.

Research Ethics for Science and Technology

  • Preliminary schedule for the first course instance during 2022: 19-21 April, 26-28 April and 3-5 May. Last day to apply is on 28 January 2022. The application is closed.
  • Preliminary schedule for the second course instance during 2022: 17-19 May, 23-25 May, 31 May and 1-2 June. Last day to apply is on 11 February 2022. The application is closed.
  • ​Preliminary schedule for the third course instance during 2022: 8-10 November, 15-17 November and 22-24 November. This application is closed. 

Transfer of credits for alternative ethics courses

Transfer of credits for alternative ethics courses is possible. Any credit transfer is handled by the director of studies for postgraduate studies for decision by the Graduation Educational Board.
